Sorry, your guess was incorrect it's not that thread you have referenced that worked for device 3 for me,it was simply deleting the MRT references from my laptop's registry specifically under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Safer
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Window
Hope this helps , it's desktop Device 4 (where the entries above don't exist) that I'm drawing a blank on.
Just to Close this out my issues described in the Thread on MRT have now disappeared with the last series of updates to Win 10 1809.
I still have it. Still "blocked by administrator".
Any ideas? I don't have these registry entries. I am on the latest-greatest 1903.
Two other ways to solve the Microsoft Removal Tool (MRT) issue:
> Copy MRT.exe from C:\Windows\System32 to your desktop and run it from there (as Admin)
> Use the nifty utility from Sysinternals called psexec.exe https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sys...wnloads/psexec
You can create a small .cmd batch file containing the following line (or run at from an admin command prompt):
psexec.exe -s -i mrt.exe
The MRT.exe file will then be executed as you were logged as 'System', an account even more powerful than Admin
