I too have an Esset license good for a few months, and not sure on whether to bother installing it. Been using windows defender and full version of Malwarebytes for a couple of months now with no issues, plus, after using computers for over 30 years, I am pretty good at knowing what not to open and what sites not to download from.
The biggest issue with 3rd party AV software is they suck the life out of your machine, IMO..

Thats because you have a much more powerful machine than Wase. You don't notice the resource hog AV programs do.

do some benchmarking on your machine with and without the AV running, and post your results..I guarantee the AV is sucking life out of your machine..

If I had an enemy, I would definitely recommend him Norton or McAfee.
It takes 10 to 30 minutes to uninstall either of them and 1 min to install other.
I do not say, that they are bad, but they are being pre-installed on slow machines.

    Hi there

    Love that !!!!!.

Anyway if people want to create multi-millionaires by buying / installing unnecessary stuff -- so be it. It's just a pity when they complain that their machine crashes or slows down after they install this wretched stuff.

I also posted on a SECURITY forum where experts who are paid a lot of money for computer security how my computer could get infected from an MKV or FLAC file with say an embedded virus in it. The application (VLC media player / Winsamp / Logitech media server / Mezzmo) would simply not play the file if it was corrupt. -- Got no answer back from all those highly paid experts !!!!!.

There's NO RISK downloading those types of files from any site dubious or otherwise !!!!. If using a Torrent though ALWAYS use the magnetic link --never the torrent.exe file as that's where you COULD get a nasty (in the .exe file).

    Cheers
