Avast vs Defender?

    Been using Avast for the last about 10 years, and of course I decide to do a full scan today, and it finds false positive in desktop.ini file in Windows 10 Here

    About to rip it out tomorrow, and start using Defender full time, whats next it finds an infection in some other system file lol

    I am well aware this is a necropost. I must say that AVAST has become very intrusive and sometimes may render your system unuseable. Also, removing it can be a nightmare (lots of leftovers). Windows Defender is now a capable and full fledged Antivirus, so for common use you don't need anything else hogging your resources (and maybe spying on you).

If Avast is not compatible with windows Defender then how can I uninstall Defender? I have used Avast for many years and am more comfortable with it. :)
