The problem came up yesterday, it was Betternet VPN problem. Tried with antivirus and antimalaware but didn't work, deleted the extension and problem is solved. Thanks !

    Thank you!

At first, I just assumed that it was a bug in Google Chrome, and so I left it, but then after a while it started to annoy me, so I researched it and found this forum, and I'm so glad I did as it solved my problem right away, I only made this account to thank everyone on here for their amazing help! Thank you!!!

For me it was removing the Betternet VPN extension. Thank you so much! Does anyone know if it is just the browser extension that is compromised or if I should also remove the Betternet program from my computer?

I had heard that betternet was causing it, and I have two chrome accounts, I removed betternet from both but it only fixed it on one, as I saw that it was also touchvpn, I removed from the account that still redirected me, and it turns out it's the only one with touchvpn, so now my problem is fixed, thanks.

I just want to say whoever discovered this I am really thankful for the solution. I have spent the morning and part of the afternoon trying to rid of these russian adverts. I had betternet and it was the root of the problem. I tried like 6 different malware helpers ffs, anyway THANKYOU SO MUCH

Has anyone got a solution for a VPN browser extension that is working properly now, which doesn't give random ads?

Just wanna say thanks to the dude who recommended to delete the VPN extension. Super helpful.

Anyway, it seems a lot of the VPN extensions have been infected. The best option as of now is to wait out until something gets fixed.
