    MRT.exe issue

    Hi.
Since the last security update, last tuesday, I cannot run MRT.exe; it returns this message:
MRT.exe blocked by policies: contact system administrator. (translation from italian)

Anyway I could do to run it again? Thank you.

Interesting, this issue has been spreading lately. For reference:

Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - Windows 10 Forums

Try to run this as admin:

    Code:
    reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\DisallowRun" /f
    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\DisallowRun" /f
    reg delete "HKU\S-1-5-18\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\DisallowRun" /f
    reg delete "HKU\S-1-5-19\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\DisallowRun" /f
    reg delete "HKU\S-1-5-20\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\DisallowRun" /f

You could do a Registry Backup and remove all policies, that would reset some settings to default.

If it would help, you could restore the backup and backtrack to the cause by looking for it.
    Code:
    reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f
    reg delete "HKCU\Software\Policies" /f
    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Policies" /f
    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f
    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Policies" /f
    reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Policies" /f
    reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f
    reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Policies" /f
