    Windows antivirus or other

I have an old netbook called an Eee PC and it had XP on it. I was wondering if the built in antivirus that is in windows would suffice or should I look for a free antivirus or try to buy a paid one?
I know I need to fill the specs out on my profile but will try to do that tonight I think

It depends on the type of browsing you do. If you're a "normal browser" then Windows Defender is perfectly adequate. But if you download torrents, you might want something a bit more advanced.

Avast Free (Custom setup - Minimal Protection) or 360 Total Security Essential.

Windows Defender or any paid AV would most like bring it to its knees with all the features.

I find Avast is too intrusive and bloaty these days.

So did I... Back in the day it was my go to software, before they added what I personally consider useless things to it. I use Windows Defender along side Malwarebytes Premium these days and feel safe but I don't do anything sketchy either. LOL

I use ESET IS on my gaming PC because it doesn't slow my machine down.

Yeah , I don't recommend Avast anymore either. Sadly as I used it for years. Panda's cloud A/V is extremely light on system resources and has been very good for me. (And I DO go to some very dodgy sites ) Its free too btw.

Panda is great, but it requires a reliable and fast connection, not WiFi, since it is purely cloud based.

I heard about Panda, but haven't tried it. Actually, I have a fast connection on my PC, so maybe it is a good choice for me.
