    3. Do a clean install and give a few days to a week to really settle in, and install only the very minimum on 3rd party programs.
    4. Then, and only then, install their 3rd party AV soft ware and firewalls.
Main reason was so Windows update would actually run a few times, only way to get it to run 2 times a day, was to run defender, cause that makes Windows update run at least twice a day. plus.....like you said, settle in...... Seems to have helped my windows. One of the main problems I saw was running windows update, WITH a 3rd party AV.....that was one of my main reasons.

I'm all for people using the AV of their choice, you can read a sticky of mine at Eight Forums, that explains what people need to take into account, when picking one. For me software choice is a very personal thing, like the music one buys , or the beer one drinks.

I have certain software & drivers, I hold off installing too, until Windows has settled after the initial install.

And of course you are 100% Right about everyone's choices. I couldn't agree more. And installing software and drivers, again, correct, Windows does so so job installing the latest drivers, on 3rd party software. But, lots of us know that.....now....

My question is which does the best job at detecting binds? (Binding malware into a png or jpeg or other file without changing the extension) (including binding methods that sellers state are %100 FUD). EXAMPLE BELOW of a seller offering a paid service.

Atm that is my main concern. I prefer bitdefender, low on resource usage, silent & highly rated.

When I tried to view the pic you posted, nothing can be read on that pic....not one little word. But, glad you are happy with bitdefender.

Well fredc never said, or wrote that I was talking for you!! My post was MY opinion. Also think more than a few others, don't use the built-in firewall and AV ....A lot more actually or all the other companies who make firewalls and AV programs would be out of business. That's just simple math. I am glad that you are happy with your AV and firewall. Have a great day!!

Funny thing is the people that told me to use Windows firewall are the people that are computer wizards like Shane from Tweaking.com and PC Wintech, forum mods and administrators from "Bleeping Computer" the top malware removal expert at Majorgeeks "Chaslang" etc..

Your comments sometimes come across like i'm right and you aren't , especially when you add in the words " for a fact" , now thats not opinion Mike , why would you say that ? Everyone knows thats not true , anyways just pointing out the discrepancy's .

You have a good day as well
