EDIT: OOPS! Yes, we were posting at the same time.
Actually, I think you might be confusing MBAE (Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit) and MBARW-BETA (Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware BETA)??
AFAIK, there are no current plans to integrate MBAE into MBAM.
It is a different product that works differently.
MBAE requires separate purchase and separate Premium licensing.
MBAM -- like your AV -- protects against the "what" of malware. The Free version is only a manual scanner, while the Premium version provides real-time anti-malware protection alongside your AV.
MBAE protects against the "how" of malware. MBAE Free provides real-time protection for browsers and plug-ins, while MBAE Premium can be customized to shield any internet-facing application.
Occasional promotions at the Malwarebytes online store offer discounts when purchasing MBAM and MBAE at the same transaction. But they remain separate and AFAIK will remain so.
MBARW-BETA, on the other hand, may indeed be merged into MBAM at some point when the development team determines it is appropriate to do so. It is still a BETA product. It differs from both MBAM and MBAE, as it is a specialized anti-ransomware tool.
I hope this helps,
MM
I haven't seen a thread with a version revision like MBAE, but you might want to keep an eye on this thread Mike: Malwarebytes not loading with Windows 10 - Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Help - Malwarebytes Forums
Very few software publishers these days offer anything other than subscription licensing.
"Lifetime" licenses simply are not commercially viable, for R&D, hiring/retaining quality staff, providing support, etc.
Writing and supporting good software costs money. It's as simple as that.
Malwarebytes corporation long ago (2014) clearly stated that all valid lifetime licenses would be grandfathered when they move to subscription licensing. They continue to honor that promise -- "once a lifetime license, always a lifetime license".
If you have a lifetime license for MBAM Premium, you do not need to buy a subscription.
Also, there is a discount for multiple subscriptions purchased at the same transaction, as well as a 2-year subscription option for both MBAM and MBAE at the Malwarebytes online store.
These work out to pennies per day per computer, or less.
And now, back on-topic....
MM (entirely unaffiliated with Malwarebytes corporation)
If you are having problems with your MBAM Premium (the name changed from "Pro" back in 2014), we would be happy to help you, either in a SEPARATE thread here at tenforums.com, OR (preferably) in a new topic at the MBAM support forum.
Cheers,
MM
