    TROJAN IN winpese-x86-14393_17.01.16.iso'


    HI TRYING AGAIN
    I downloaded winpese-x86-14393_17.01.16.iso' from here and Avira antivirus flagged
    it as hiding a Trojan I have deleted it but.a false positive?
    Ay help much appreciated

    Hi.
    Is that the Kyhi rescue media you're referring to? If so, yes that would be a false positive. I just downloaded it last week, and ESET said it was fine.

    You can always upload it to virustotal.com for scanning to verify.

    The iso is too big to be uploaded to virustotal but it seems to be a false positive. I downloaded the latest version and has been using it without issues.

    Old thread but....
    I downloaded both the x86 and x64 versions of winpese from a link on this forum just a month ago, 12/14/2019, and the x86 version still has an infection called Trojan:Win32/Tiggre!rfn. It was caught by Windows Defender during a full scan. File name winpese-x86-14393_17.01.16.iso

    pecmdx86 seems to be picked up by a few avs as a false positive.

    Uncompressed x86 version might be less likely to trigger FPs. x64 version doesn't trigger any FPs as far as I know.

    Notify the av company.
