Malwarebytes PUP scanning lists legitimate programs as threats

I have been using Malwarebytes version 3 for some until it some of my legitimate programs as Threats ie Advanced System Care 10,Freemake Video Converter,Freesmith Video Player.I had to manually uncheck loads of files that i wanted to keep and add folders to exclusions...but it still showed some files on all programs as threats...one particular program Freemake Video Converter now and then have small updates..Malwarebytes quarantined the update package and when Freemake tried to update the whole program was quarantined so i could not use it.

Because of the rigid PUP scanning i have not renewed my license...and use Hitman Pro and Spybot Search and Destroy instead and the above mentioned programs run perfectly

    Hi there

PUP's are almost IMPOSSIBLE to detect these days until a few victims get caught and then the PUP DB can be updated.

My whole view on the WHOLE A/V industry is that it is totally passed it's sell by date -- at least as far as Domestic consumers are concerned -- these sorts of A/V products are just trying to solve C20 problems in C21 --

You are far better off just DITCHING all this stuff, use M/s Windows defender and above all use BRAIN --99% of scams these days are so well organised that they rely on the "Stupidity of the User" -- and none of these would ever be caught out by Software.

I read Daily in the world's press about how people are swindled daily out of large amounts of money by silly things such as replying to phone texts or emails purported to be from Banks / lawyers etc --why on earth do these people never phone up the REAL Bank's phone number rather than just reply to the number in the text / email.

For once I actually agree with the Banks (Ist time EVER !!!!!) that if people reply to dubious texts etc and transfer money without checking first by actually phoning their bank --preferably from a different phone -- then they DESERVE to lose their money..

My computer pet hate these days are "I.T Security experts" who probably are basically so "Un Streetwise" that they wouldn't even know how to organise a Prayer meeting in the Vatican or a boozeup in a Brewery.

Note here I'm just referring to HOME computers --corporate networks have different issues to deal with.

    Cheers

In MB 2 and MB 3 you have 3 choices for PUPs.

    Treat as Malware.
    Warn User
    Ignore

    Check you settings.

I personally am not going to get involved in beating this dead horse on any other sites including this one. If you do not understand WHY it is labeled as a PUP "legitimate program or not" then no matter how it is explained or who it is explained by will make no difference to you and others complaining.
