Hard to say who should or shouldnt use another A.V for protection.. I thought i was a safe p.c. user and well, Crap got thru into my laptop.. And this was after i quit using Avast FREE. I dumped avast free as they and other's are getting worse with their products- with their spying on our usage.. and what i call crap.
If your not sure if you need a better A.V - You could try using SpywareBlaster For added security .Its a down load and forget program except for manual updating.. BUT !!! it will not work with Edge browser. But i dont use edge..

I decided to stick with 360 Total Security. So far no complaints.

360 TS doesn't detect some common viruses WD does.

    Hi there

    1) NO A/V program works 100% -- as others have already pointed out - if it did we'd all be using it.

    2) SOFTWARE can't in any case protect against totally stupid USER actions so use Internet safely, don't open strange email links and never reply to things where people want info to update Bank accounts / tax systems etc etc

    3) If using torrents don't download things like .zip/.rar etc files. For Music / video download only the proper mp4/mp3/flac etc codec files - then the music / video application will only play if the files are OK.

    4) Again with Torrent sites use magnet links too instead of the actual torrent file.

    5) I think WD is as good or as bad as all the A/V programs - personally I think for home computers WD is fine - anything else is just a load on the system and probably as about as effective / ineffective as the standard WD.

    6) Always have clean regular backups -- if you DO get infected a CLEAN RESTORE will inevitably be FAR FAR quicker than messing around for often HOURS with Virus cleansing programs which can't be relied on to cleanse the computer 100% anyway - especially if the computer you are running the software on is infected in the first case.

Things like Macrium are FREE -- a typical restore on a modern laptop computer can take as little as 10 - 15 mins against SEVERAL HOURS messing around with several passes running A/V cleansing software.

Have a Happy (and Virus Free) Xmas everyone.

    Cheers

Which ones? In tests 360 has about 10% better detection than WD, WD is usually always the last in the world.

It performs great against ransomware even without Avira and Bitdefender, though Bitdefender helps.

Agree . No A.V program is 100%.. Ive been careless over the years and WD just wasnt enough. Then went to Avast Free and was happy customer and also used M.Byte Free... And i use to be a firm believer of Never Pay for a A.V. program.. But times are changing and free one's are getting to the point of not using.and hard pressed to say if their better than WD.
I had gotten a bad virus a few times in the last year and Avast free boot time scan rescued me.. BUT i have lost interest in avast to. Its going in the path of A.V.G. in my opinion. and other's..
So with with some research i decided to give Norton Security Deluxe a try. BUT even with that you have to be careful and turn off- Norton identity safe extensions and Norton home page , and Norton safe search for chrome... If not it be like using the ASK Tool bar.
Oh and were i was careless with. It was with the Torrent sites

I've been using Norton for years, along with Malwarebytes, and SuperAntiSpyware All are the paid versions. I've never had a problem yet with any virus infecting my machines. I also don't use Torrent sites ....EVER!!! Take Care and hope you are having a Great Christmas too. :)

In that case, you do not even need AV, you are a safe surfer. Then again better be safe than sorry. It is all about a risk management, I have nothing to loose, I have not used AV nor a firewall for years, it improves performance. :)

I would never recommend anyone to not have any protection on there computer, I've always had programs in place for protection. But how a person protects or does not protect their machines is entirely up to them. :)
