    AV for Insider Preview

Already made mistake with Bitdefender 2017. Bit support says they don't support beta, which they consider W-10 Insider. Checking for refund.
I see Kaspersky says the same.
I'm a little nervous about just trusting Defender.

Doesn't matter what antivirus you use, it will not going to protect you 100% all the time. That basically say, as long you have a good common sense, Windows Defender should do fine. You can add Malwarebytes Anti Exploit to protect against exploits, and Malwarebytes Anti Ransomware BETA to protect against ransomware, and Malwarebytes Anti Malware free and Hitman Pro for weekly on demand scanner.

    Thanks, Ducky.
Great recommendations that I've mostly already implemented.
Really wondering if there is any of the AV Suites have come out and said Insider was compatible.

Insider is going to be around for a long time.

I've been using Panda free, not had a problem with it, updating IP's using windowsUpdate only, has not fallen over during any upgrade install.

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14955 for Mobile and PC

May want to post the question in the above forum.

Personally, I think you are fine with WD and a periodic scan with Malwarebytes or another AV.

    Malwarebytes and AV

You cannot nor should not compare Malwarebytes with AV. MB is one thing and AV is another.

It is well known in the Insider Build world that you should never run a 3rd party AV on ANY Insider Build.

Neither 3rd party nor Malwarebytes can keep up with the changes Microsoft does to every Insider Build. They come out at least once a week, let alone the Skip Ahead, which is super beta.

Do yourself a favor and leave Windows Defender alone or get out of Dodge (Insider Program)

It's a catch up game with insider versions and some programs, both may have some changes that don't go together well. AV and security programs can make worst mess because of smallest incompatibility. AVs and resident anti-malware programs dig deep into system while ordinary programs don't go that far and may only malfunction themselves leaving little or no damage to system, aggressive cleaning programs not withstanding,

    AV's and Insider Previews

So, we are agreeing that mixing Any AV, even Malwarebytes, is dangerous territory for all Insider builds. There is nothing wrong with Windows Defender by itself. But, this is what I do. I run Malwarebytes Adw Cleaner every once in a while. It's not real time, so I pick up the crap normally at the end of the day. Works great. Better than a poke in the eye with a burnt stick.

That's OK if they are not resident of which payed version of MB is and Adwcleaner is not resident anyway.
