Cannot install Malwarebytes on my PC

Have downloaded malware bytes setup installer

When I double click on the installer icon a window appears with the message

"Select Setup Language to use during the installation" When I click on this with a blue spinning circle in it"

When I try to delete the installer a window another window appears with the message

    "File in use
Cannot be completed because delete because malware bytes is open in Malbytes Anti Malaware
Close the file and try again"

Any ideas as to what may be going here???
I don't have malware bytes on my pc!!!!!

You can't delete the installer because the Malwarebytes setup is still running and trying to read from the file. Open Task Manager and look for Malwarebytes on the Processes tab. End the task and you should be able to delete the file. If it's still in use then restart Windows, that will end any processes that you may have missed.

Where did you get your Mawarebytes from? Make sure you get it direct from Malwarebytes themselves an not from any third party site. Links to Malwarebytes are given here...

Thanks for your reply Bree...It was dowloaded from their site
Was able to delete the installer as how you instructed
When I re downloaded the mbam installer I double clicked it and it would not result in any action, so I opened the installer as an adminisrator BUT the same problem occured - a window appearing with the message :
"Select Setup Language to use during the installation" When I click on this with the endless
    blue spinning circle in it"

Any thoughts on what may be causing it?

What AV do you use? If it's a 3rd-party AV it may be blocking the Malwarebytes install. Try adding the mbam-setup.... file to your AV's exclusion list.

I had sort of the same problem, I could not connect to server for updates. After using adw/cleaner, the problem was fixed and I could get the updates.

    Hi, @provlima:

It looks as if the Root Admin at the MBAM forum is helping you here:

    https://forums.malwarebytes.org/topi...bam-installer/

It can be confusing, inefficient and even counter-productive to work on the same problem simultaneously in multiple venues. The helpers in different venues do not know what steps are being taken by the others, or what changes are being made to the system in question. That can cause problems.

I respectfully suggest that you please choose one or the other -- either here or there -- but not both.

    Regards,

    MM

    P.S. EDIT: To be safe, I agree with downloading the current MBAM installer only from the vendor's own product page. For the record, the installer (aka "setup" file) is the same for the Free, Trial and Premium versions. It may be downloaded HERE or HERE. A 14-day Trial is enabled by default during the setup wizard, unless the user opts out (and the Trial may be manually ended at any time before it expires 14 days after installation). Paid users activate the program for the Premium features with a valid license key (and a valid license ID, if it's an older, legacy, lifetime license). {The paid version was renamed from "Pro" to "Premium" in March 2014.}
