Get the same thing from wherever I try to run it, either place. UAC dialogue says it from an Unknown Publisher.

Unblock the .exe and see what UAC does.

Using PowerShell (Admin) with "Unblock-File C:\Temp\adwcleaner_7.0.2.1.exe" it's unblocked yet still getting the same error & UAC message: Unsigned and from an Unknown Publisher.

The actual file you downloaded. The one in your Downloads folder. Right click, properties, lower right > Unblock > apply. Run that one. Looks like this in your downloads folder. Don't know where your getting the C:\Temp\adwcleaner_7.0.2.1.exe. Should be a file (.exe) right in your Downloads folder:

Clayton, I have to go for the night. I'll check back in the morning. If nothing works for that, delete it all and re-download it.

NO Unblock option and that is the downloaded file from https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewd.../1-adwcleaner/ "ToolsLib" web page, the page I'm sent to from the link in ADWC. Also get to that page from MWBAM link to download ADWC.

    EDIT:

You won't believe this, but on the FOURTH download from that exact same web site it came in with no warnings and runs like it's supposed to. Guess I just needed someone to prod me for one more try.

Thanks Tom Cat and have a good night. Now I'm gone to play with a 10 month old Grandson.

Gremlins, Clayton, just gremlins! :) Glad you got it worked out. Say "Hi!" to the Grandson.

P.S. - When you can, run a full scan on C: with Defender or whatever AV you are using. What you just went thru is a little unusual. Just a sanity check. TC

LOL, no need to tell me about Gremlins. I'm an insulin dependent diabetic, know several of them little vermin by name.

Good idea about the WD scan. Ran MBAM & ADWC and a WD Quick Scan. I'll light it off now and report back.
