True, but you have to be careful not to remove the (very few) useful ones.
For example, on a clean install for my Dell laptop I have deliberately installed the 'Dell Command | Power Manager'. This gives access to the battery charging schemes that otherwise can only be set up in the bios. There's no obvious way to exclude a particular OEM software detection - not until you right-click on it, that is.
