Guys, I know everyone means well with the offered regedits, but why not offer a better solution instead:
(In an elevated command prompt, obviously.) This will clean up not only the registry key that everyone worries about, but several associated keys that reference it. Or, to prevent it from ever coming back again (because it will), put Deny Read permissions for your user account on that registry key, as well as HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\EPP. The installer will happily see and write whatever it wants there, but your explorer will never load it.Code:regsvr32 /u "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Defender\ShellExt.dll"
