How to disable or remove Ad Choices

It shows up when I am browsing. It takes up the middle of the screen and I can't close out of it.
It is not in my program files on the add/delete page. Where is it hiding???? I see apps you can download for free but am wary of them.

I can't go into the registry and try to fix it.

Please give me an easy solution.

    Thanks so much.....

Hi purplelover and welcome to Tenforums.

    Try this:

    RKILL
    ADWCleaner
    JRT
    Malwarebytes Antimalware Free
(Please enable ROOTKIT scanning in the setting before running the scan.)

See if that solves your problems.

    Ad Choices

    Hi Simrick,

    RKILL
    ADWCleaner
    JRT
    Malwarebytes Antimalware Free
(Please enable ROOTKIT scanning in the setting before running the scan.)

    How would I do ?that??

I ran Malwarebytes and it found nothing. It is expired but ran anyway.

ADWCleaner was one i looked at....

RKill and JRT can be found with a google search? Never heard of them.

Thanks so much I will try ADWCleaner next.

    Simrick,

I went to the ADWCleaner site and downloaded a free trial . It took almost 40 minutes to scan everything, When it got done it said I had 5164 problems. I clicked to fix it and lo and behold it wouldn't do it UNLESS I paid $29.99. What a colossal waste of time. Did you know it would do that? Malware bytes found nothing.

Are there any really FREE trials?????? I am not a happy camper. Bummer!

I don't know what you downloaded, but Adwcleaner is a free program and it doesn't charge anything to use or clean.

It should look like this before a scan,

    And this after,

    Hello,

Please download AdwCleaner and Save it to the Desktop.

Right click on the program and choose Run as administrator.
You'll get the Terms of Use for the program, click on I agree.
Please click the Scan button and be patient, you can open the log after scanning and post it as attachment or clean.

If you choose clean all active programs will be closed and your computer will be rebooted. After the reboot a logfile will open, please attach the logfile in your next post.

The logfiles can also be found in C:\AdwCleaner.
    • AdwCleaner[Sx].txt - x is the number of scans you did, please attach the highest number, unless you cleaned.
    • AdwCleaner[Cx].txt - x is the nu mber of cleans you did, please attach the highest number.

How is your computer doing now?

Can you post a screenshot of the program you downloaded? Also, AdwCleaner is free to use as @derekimo told you, see also my steps above this post about the program. :)

    Hi.
I provided links to everything I recommended. Not sure what you downloaded, but it was not ADWCleaner. Everything I use is free unless I tell you otherwise.
