    Hey,

That looks good. But I think you are infected, can you please download the Emsisoft Emergency Kit unzip and install it? After you installed it, please start it (if it does start automatic) from C:\EEK and let the program update, enable PUP dection and run a quick scan.

Please attach the logfile of the EEK scan in your next post.

General files being deleted.....jpgs, notepad, word, pfd.

Dave, this post of yours is partly what got me questionning you about your Favourites drawer. (Usually named 'Favorites' with no 'u' on non-British systems, by the way).

You transposed the pathname incorrectly as no system-generated pathname string would contain a mix of backslashes (\) and forward-slashes (/).
If writing forward-slashes as backslashes was the only error you made, then your Desktop drawer's pathname is:
    C:\Users\Dave\Favourites\Desktop
If this is the case, then the source of all your problems is having the Desktop drawer inside the Favourites drawer. Because, as I stated, Windows pops up exactly the warning message you've been getting when a user copies or moves files from or to anywhere in Favourites. The Desktop drawer doesn't belong in the Favourites drawer.

If the above is the case, try dragging the Desktop drawer from C:\Users\Dave\Favourites
back to where it belongs, which is directly under C:\Users\Dave .

Ah, my mistake with the \ and /.
Folder now moved as suggested and problem now solved. No idea how this happened.
However.................if I now move a file to the recycle bin and want to restore it back to its original location, I am being prompted with this one now.....

Now when deleting from the desktop again, I am prompted with:

Guys, Gals: Thread starter may have to boot a Puppy Linux usb stick or DVD boot to move Desktop folder out of Favorites back to where it belongs? Or, did I misunderstand where the Desktop folder now resides?
