To stay with "apples and apples" comparisons....

MBAE (Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit) and HitmanPro Alert are ANTI-EXPLOIT applications.
They provide complementary protection alongside anti-virus and anti-malware applications.

MBAM (Malwarebytes Anti-Malware) and Emsisoft Anti-Malware are both ANTI-MALWARE applications.
However, EAM is ALSO an antivirus, but MBAM is not.
And MBAM Free is only a manual, on-demand scanner -- it does not provide real-time protection.
MBAM Premium and EAM are both paid products.

    Cheers,

    Emsisoft Anti-Malware
    That's an apple.
    It's an anti-virus + anti-malware program.
If you already have another anti-virus (WD or a 3rd-party AV), you will need to uninstall that other AV.
Otherwise you will have 2 installed AVs, and that is not a good idea.

    or
    Hitman pro 3 alert

    That's an orange.
    It's a specialized anti-exploit tool to run alongside an anti-virus & anti-malware program.
It does not replace an anti-virus.
If you use this, you will still need a robust anti-virus, either free or paid.

Yes, this can be very confusing.
If one opts for a layered approach, it's important to avoid duplication/overlap, in order to minimize performance issues or even reduced security.

For the record, AV + HitmanPro Alert (anti-exploit) combo still lacks robust, full-fledged, real-time ANTI-MALWARE protection.

I may have misunderstood, but I thought that was your original question?

I'm not sure why you are so averse to MBAM. And that is your choice. But, if you do not use EAM for anti-malware (and anti-virus), then there are not that many good, real-time, robust anti-malware programs out there. MBAM Premium is probably the best option. The cost works out to pennies a day, or less.
It is designed to run alongside your AV to provide real-time layered protection against zero-hour and zero-day threats often missed by the AV. Anti-exploit programs (such as HitmanPro Alert and MBAE) are not full anti-malware applications.

    Cheers,

Thanks Are you using it ? I was looking at Hitman But because I never used it before didn't know what to do
Hi! I've used Emsisoft Anti-Malware [which is also now an anti-virus] for some time now; it can be assertive. I've had Malwarebytes AM & AE -- both do a good job; it might just be me, however, I felt that MBAM was not as assertive as EAM. Presently, I'm using HitmanPro and HitmanProAlert, appears to be working good!

Yes, Hitman Pro ALERT (which is a paid product) provides real-time anti-malware and anti-exploit protection.
I stand corrected, as I was not aware that it provided much/any anti-malware protection.

So it looks as if you will be well-covered by your AV + Hitman Pro Alert.

    See here:

    Products - SurfRight

Hitman Pro (like MBAM Free) is only an on-demand, manual, second-opinion scanner.

Someone more familiar with these products will correct me if I am wrong.
