Windows Firewall Control Blocks Store From Downloading New Apps

Not sure if this is the correct folder.

Updated to Windows Anniversary - no problems.

However, now I have the problem as stated in the title.

If I turn Windows Firewall Control (v4.8.3.0) off the apps download and install fine. With WFC active store reports an error and no download.

    Any ideas.

Is there a way to set 'Windows Firewall Control' to allow you to see exactly what it's blocking? That way you can then create rules to allow items to make outbound connections?

Unfortunately, I've never used Windows Firewall Control, so I'm going to be of little help to you on this front. However, with the Anniversary Update, the Windows applications listed at the bottom of this post need to make outbound connections, which is different from pre-Anniversary Update.

If 'Windows Firewall Control' uses the native Windows firewall, then potentially you could run Command Prompt as Administrator, paste the following into it and hit enter. That will add these outbound allow rules directly into Windows Firewall. Alternatively, you can look at the program locations listed below and see if you can manually add them to an allow list in 'Windows Firewall Control'. The main one that is probably blocking store programs from downloading/installing will likely be installagentuserbroker.exe.

    Code:
    netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="+ Windows - InstallAgentUserBroker" dir=out action=allow program="%SystemRoot%\System32\installagentuserbroker.exe" enable=yes profile=any remoteport=80,443 protocol=tcp

    netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="+ Windows - SystemSettings" dir=out action=allow program="%SystemRoot%\immersivecontrolpanel\systemsettings.exe" enable=yes profile=any remoteport=80,443 protocol=tcp

    netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="+ Windows - SmartScreen" dir=out action=allow program="%SystemRoot%\System32\smartscreen.exe" enable=yes profile=any remoteport=80,443 protocol=tcp

    netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="+ Windows - GamebarPresenceWriter" dir=out action=allow program="%SystemRoot%\System32\gamebarpresencewriter.exe" enable=yes profile=any remoteport=80,443 protocol=tcp

    Thank you, it was 'installagentuserbroker.exe'.

I allowed it through WFC and store apps now download.
