Windows 10: What low impact FREE antivirus can you suggest for Windows 10 Home?
What low impact FREE antivirus can you suggest for Windows 10 Home?
I am currently on a search for a low impact free antivirus for my Windows 10 Home. I'm currently running 360 Total Security as main antivirus while SMADAV as my second line defense. My PC is running on 2GB RAM and 500GB HDD.
360 TS has been my antivirus for two years already after replacing AVAST as I find the pop ups intrusive. It is just recently that 360 TS seem to be taking too much resources on my RAM. It even slows down the startup time of my PC. I've replaced Malwarebytes with SMADAV as Malwarebytes tends to hog all the resources.
Any suggestions will be very much appreciated. Thank you.
Windows Defender with MBAM.
If it's hogging resources upgrade your RAM
360 TS Essential.
Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivrus is small quick and easy to install, and once installed it runs in the background
- Downloads in seconds.
- Scans in under 2 minutes.
- Extremely lightweight, will not slow down your PC.
- Automatically protects your personal and financial information.
- Fully compatible with other AV software.
- And under 1MB
The topic discussion of FREE not PAID. Webroot doesn't have any free security software.
free is always good , even if its for 6 months
Update your security software - NAB
6 months free
they dont check if your a customer to download it
Windows Defender, the free versions of Malwarebytes AntiMalware and Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit. Add the free version of CryptoPrevent. Update CryptoPrevent often, run a MBAM scan often and you have a good layered security suite. For even better protection you can buy a license for the Premium real-time version of MBAM and MBAE. Money very well spent.
Windows Defender and some common sense.
Too much false positives.
What antivirus are you using? is it the Free or Paid version? (this option is not on the poll so if you can, reply with the answer :D)
I am looking for an explorer, which:
1. Allows to create favorites links.
2. Supports tab browsing.
3. It is updated regularly.
SImple GUI and 64-bit would be nice, but that would be asking too much.
I have looked over dozens of webpages,...
What will be the right choice of a free antivirus with the new OS? The inbuilt Defender? Or long time trusted Avast? Or Avira? Or anything else?
Have you guys tested any free antivirus yet?

New study shows that most free antivirus venders push crapware and pups in their installs...
