What extra software do I need with Windows 10-winver.png@f14tomcat
    Hi TC,
Sorry don't know how to reply in your post#39.
    Screenshot of WINVER

Stupidly I did download RealImage PC repair and ran it. Then I had to call a number and a sales person took control of my machine and told me I needed a technician to sort out my problems (full of malware, viruses etc etc.) I even more stupidly went for his offer for a tidy sum of €179!! Then someone from SolidTech took over my pc. I took a few minutes to think it over and realized I'd been conned I phoned back and with a lot of arguing they finally agreed to reimburse my money through PayPal and stop the operation. They left this file on my PC with I transferred to my external drive.
    I'm learning from my mistakes!

    @Lizzy

Good morning! You did fine with the step #39, that was the WINVER screenshot, which you posted.
Just wanted to verify the current version of your OS. Your up to date.

For right now, lets leave the RealImage PC repair alone. It should be uninstalled, but a little later after we get your space back.

Before continuing, a couple of questions, please.

    1. Do you have a full system image backup? I did not see one on your Touro drive. Before doing any major work on a system, it is advisable to have a backup, just in case. This is important. I can show you how to backup to your Touro drive. It's easy and will give you a safety net.

    2. Do you intend to stay with Windows 10? You have a 30 day period to revert back to 8.1, but cleaning up the very large files on your system will remove that ability. Your 30 day period ends about July 18th, and after July 29th, Microsoft will stop offering the free upgrade.

I apologize for so many questions, but anyone here would have similar questions. We want to help, not make it worse.

Look forward to hearing from you....TC

    Hi TC,
I have Acronis True Image which I don't keep plugged in and will do a full back up this evening. The last one was before I upgraded to W10.
I wasn't sure if I wanted to stay as I had problems with my 2nd monitor not working. You can see my problem in the Drivers and Hardware forum, but I have now plugged my 2nd monitor directly into my laptop, bypassing my ASUS docking station and it's working. So, I guess I will stay with W10.

Lizzy, can you do one (a backup) before we start deleting stuff? It's safer.

Lizzy, from what I've been able to find on Seagate Free Agent, there may be a compatibility issue with Windows 10. Carbonite is a Cloud backup service. We need to get you a backup locally on an external drive that you control. I strongly suggest we use your Touro drive and some highly respected and free software called Macrium Reflect. It is easy to use and reliable. If you are willing, I will show you how. The Seagate Free Agent issue should not stop you from getting a good backup. There are other FREE good alternatives. Please post back. I'm more than willing to walk you thru it. TC

    Great!

First, download and install the Macrium Reflect Free version from this site Macrium Reflect Free

When done, attach your Touro drive and look to see how much space is free. Post back with the result. Thanks....

That's it installed. I have 885GB free on Touro.
I'm afraid I have to go but if you leave instructions I will follow tomorrow.
    Many thanks
