    You got a "Closing VSS" at the beginning? That comes at the very end. There must have been a message before that. Right click the definition file and click Validate. What does it say?

    This is bizarre.... in the definition file, there is a spot for retention rules. Right click the definition file and click edit. Click next at bottom. On the screen about 2/3 down there is a small box. Click the arrow and choose "all backup sets". Click next, click finished. Try again.

    All backup sets was already ticked. I tried again with the same result. I really appreciate all your time and help but I have to go now. Please leave any instructions and I will try sometime tomorrow. I won't be able to reconnect until tomorrow late afternoon,

    OK, Lizzy. I understand. When you get back, go thru the install of Macrium again. Because it is already there, say ok to override downloaded files, you will get this screen. Choose REPAIR. Let it finish and try the backup again. TC

    Hi again TC,
    Being stubborn I thought I'd give it one more try. I uninstalled Touro, deleted the definition file, rebooted and started from scratch - and hey presto!! See you tomorrow!!

    Good job, Lizzy!

    I know I'm repeating myself, and I apologize beforehand, but you are EJECTING the Touro drive before pulling the cable, right? Not just pulling the cable out. EJECTING first? Data can get corrupted on the Touro if you do not eject it first. I'm a worry wart.

    You want instructions for tomorrow? OK, using that thumb drive, walk yourself thru creating the Rescue Media!
