That depends on local laws. Many countries have "High tech crimes" division.

I would do it, especially if you have proof.

Knowing it and proving it are 2 different things, just so you know. If you alert the police without a solid proof, they will not touch him, just question him and he will be more careful next time and you will not be even able to get him fired.
