    Thanx TO it did work in the SAFE MODE. One question though, all the options in SETTINGS>DEFENDER are greyed out and there is a statement in red that reads "some settings are managed by your organization"

    Because some settings were set via registry/policy, like detection of PUP.
    If you want to reset it and to be able to change it by yourself, run this:

    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender" /f

    Yes, it will reset all settings, WD will just create new ones.

Hello. Using BitDefender. Cant seem to activate Windows Defender (also). Does Bit Defender prohibit Windows Defender from being activated ? Any idea why I can't activate ? Assuming I can, somehow, do I want both ?

I have disabled windows defender as i have GData inernet security . But windows is still trying to install updates • Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB2267602 (Definition 1.203.1973.0) - Error 0x80070643 Is their any way to stop this.
