Malwarebytes is pushing out the latest version 3.0.6.1469 to MB 2 users through its update system. Starting slow but in a few weeks everyone will get it. I have my Check for Program Updates unchecked as there are still too many bugs but they said it was good enough.

Did you contact Malwarebytes to get your old key. They have it on file somewhere. Actually the key at least for me if memory serves me correct did not change going from v2.? to v3.0, so your current key might still work on v2.? editions.
I have gone thru the trials and tribulations going from v2.?? to v3.?? and just did the latest update and everything is working perfectly. With previous v3 versions, I had the orange banner show up on bootup, a simple couple steps to make the banner disappear. Not a big deal for me as I leave most of my computers on 24/7 so I don't see that orange banner all that much.
Malwarebytes 3.0.6 is not showing notifications when a website is blocked so I went back to 3.0.5
I installed ver. 3.0.6. It is very slow to start. Anyone else seen this?
I did a clean OS install last week.......then installed Version 3.0.6 which has now updated to 3.0.6.1469
Program starts fast and components of the program are running and all settings are sticking........
The fresh OS install might have been the reason for my (so far) success with Version 3...
I haven't noticed your findings. Mine has since updated to 3.0.6.1469 and what I normally do since I leave my machines on, is have it run thru the threat scan in the early mornings and the Custom Scan runs thru all the HDD's every Sunday in the early mornings, and if there is an issue, when I wake up I just reboot because problem area's have been quarantined and Malewarebytes requires a boot to finish the process.
I also use Windows Defender and schedule the scans in the early mornings as well. However Defender also does periodic scans during the day on it's own.
The way I have things setup the system doesn't get bogged down with the various maint tasks running when I am trying to do something.
