I disagree, I visit about 300+ websites a week for work and I've seen quite a few legitimate websites that have been infected. MBM always blocks them but I've never had a peep from WD, I assume because MBM got there first. MBM gives me that extra level of assurance.
I also agree with you, I don't visit as many sites as you do during the week, but MB has blocked lots of sites, where Defender would never have, and still doesn't . MB protects you much better the WD and they work good together too. MB is always on, I never turn it off. Uses very little resources leaving it on.

    +1

I use it in addition to WD and CCleaner. I did not renew my subscription for McAfee when it expired earlier last year because I am not confident that a paid service is any better than the free stuff.

I keep WD and MBAM running in the background and once a week I run the extended versions.

I don't think that any single virus protection service will catch all the current trojans and viruses. So, I think you need multiple layers of protection.

It may be that I don't visit sites that are more likely to have a virus or that I don't visit enough of them.

But I am virus free and happy.

Agree with you both. I don't visit that many sites, but MBAM does catch malicious links now and then where WD makes no mention of them. Also run AdwCleaner at least weekly and it "seems" to be doing it's job.

I also disagree jimbo. Like swarfega, MBAM (Premium for me) blocks malicious web sites access several times a week, normal, good sites that have apparently been compromised. I wouldn't browse the web without it.

I think you are doing people a disservice by telling them they don't need MBAM.

Yeah Keep Malwarebytes Free installed, can't afford Premium unforuately for all 3 systems, so yeah don't think removing Malwarebytes Free, So far Kept Avast installed as little uneasy still on using Defender, may try it again when 1903 Releases and i do my usual clean install

I uninstalled MBAM after this last software update(not definitions, but the program itself update), as I got sick and tired of it, forcing the 14 day trial and making changes to my AV selection in Windows and turning Defender off and no choice during the install to say respect my previous settings.
I also test the beta for MBAE and that gets uninstalled every time.
I only want to use the on-demand scan, and not the real time protection.

Any program that makes changes to my AV choice during an update(I could understand a clean install) after I have already said no once, is no better than the malware it's suppose to protect me against

Take the 14 day free trial. After it is over it won't offer it again.

    No.
    I only use Defender.
    Nothing more, nothing less.

Dammit, Ccleaner lost my trust after Avast started doing lousy tricks too.
