Thanks. Something will pop up. I'll stumble on it while I'm looking for something else. That happens a lot.

Same way I find a lot of things. And G's worse than I am. LOL, frequently one of us will ask the other if they are looking for this.

Scan loop in malwarebytes when Rootkits scan active

I have here a difficult and very long outstanding problem.
There is a endless scan (LOOP) in Malwarebytes in 3.6.1.2711 version 1.0.508 update 1.0.8688.
The loop happens only when the rootkit scan in Malwarebytes is activated, but the loop runs NOT in the rootkit scan itself but later.

My system is a fully up-to-date Dutch Windows 10 Home 1803.
I think it is essential that it happens in a non-English windows.
Together with the Malwarebytes guys we found the cause of the loop.
It happens only when there is a "Startup-" folder in the
    "C:\Users\Dik\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" folder
And the DASH is essential here !!

It is a very big system with ca 350 applications and this Windows 10 is migrated all the way from Vista.
No other program had ever problems with this "startup-" entries in the registry.

But keep reading, because the loop comes not always.
Only after the program "Soft Organizer" from ChemTable has run in my system.
I found that Soft Organizer creates that "Startup-" folder every time it runs.
After I delete this "Startup-" folder the loop in Malwarebytes is gone.
But the next run of Soft Organizer creates the "Startup-" folder again.

Together with the Soft Organizer guys from ChemTable we found the cause of that.
In my registry there are extra startup entries with the name "startup-" (without quotes).
I spend already many time to found who or which program put this in my registry.
    But no success until now.
Which of you has seen this somewhere already?
The Malwarebytes guys think that Soft Organizer created somehow the "startup-" entries in the registry.
But I do not think so and they cannot prove that (until now).

Soft Organizer told me to delete all the "startup-" entries in the registry, to get rid of the loop:
    Chemtable Software Forum - Login
But then I expect that I can test no longer the bug loop in Malwarebytes.
And I want to have a solution for this problem from Malwarebytes.

Do you think I am right to first ask for a solution from Malwarebytes?
    Please advice me.
    Dh

The bug is in MB so it is up to them to handle it IMO.

I just did a manual update check and it updated, presumably for a component update.
