Maybe some of you can help me: since yesterday, it is impossible to set up protection in real time (version 3.3.1).
I also tried manually, but without success. I tried with and without delay of 15 seconds. No way.
    Can someone help me?
    Thank you.
In most cases a clean install will fix things .

Malwarebytes has a tool for this called MB-Clean which will automate the whole process for you.

The clean removal tool will backup your license information and then re-enter the license to the new install.

Tool can be found at https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb_clean

    1. After downloading the tool run the tool.
    2. The tool will automatically clean up the older possibly damaged installation and will ask you for a restart.
    3. Restart your system and then the MB-Clean tool will prompt you to re-install the latest product.
    4. Click on "Yes" to reinstall MB 3.×.
    5. Now you will have the latest product installed. If it does not offer the new install after the reboot you can download and install from here.

I was told to run that mb_clean file on their forum, it certainly did the job.

Indeed. I ran in over MB 3 and it performed flawlessly.

Ooof - I personally experienced this this morning:

IMPORTANT: Web Blocking / RAM Usage Issue - Malwarebytes 3 - Malwarebytes Forums

I woke up this morning to MBService using 8 + GB of my 12 GB of installed RAM and my system unresponsive.

It's going around. Turned this thing into a big Desk Lamp. Multiple failed Restarts and made Reliability History and Event Viewer logs look like Horror Stories. I finally managed to get it out of starting with Windows.

Twice now today Ive had a crash and the computer has ground to a halt. Once while playing a game, and now with opening Spotify. I'm wondering if MBM is using up the memory. So I'm going to uninstall it and see how the machine behaves for a while.

Not as much - if you try to run it then it will probably have some issues, and may cause a flat out completely unresponsive system, but as long as it is installed but not actually running you're fine.

And it is not an instant whack on your system either - it takes time to build up, and the more RAM you have the longer it is going to take. So, if you absolutely have to run the free version until the fix is available, I'd also open task manager and specifically watch for Memory usage (click the memory tab in Task Manager to sort by memory usage, from highest to lowest) and when that approaches half your installed RAM, stop MB and close out.

but best is to wait until a fix is announced and then follow the instructions on getting the update.

Might actually read what I wrote first.

Just close out of MB (quit from the system tray) and you'll be fine until they start pushing out the update.

And yes, it is a RAM usage thing.

Nah Don't have to absolutely run the free version til fix is out, updated laptop a few hours ago, did Avast scan, Malwarebytes scan, then did image backup, and didn't notice high memory then maybe missed the bad one thankfully.
