    Does version 5 add anything important other than more bloat?

    I have a problem and MBs at first was doing it's job but I wanted to uninstall it afterwards. Tried to manually remove it and later went back to reinstall and now it will not work the same at all. MBs also gives incomplete reports of the same virus ( the same one I am having problems with ),

    About False-Reports I tried two different releases of the same program. MBs is full of false-reports. Yes over time they have correct this but at the same time I feel they are siding with Microsoft over the User.

    I have to switch Avast. Only problem I have with it is how to turn it off. I can disable it for a limited time but it goes back on, The next problem is that Avast is attempting to load data ( call mother base ) from "White Acorn Institute" and a whole string of IP.
    It eats up my upload and download stream ( which you know the solution to that ), and because Process hacker ( the better Taskmanager ) is on black-list of this program I have to find other means to get my speed back.

    MBs = Magnum

    Avast = Machine gun

    MBs might be more powerful but I get more pot shots from Avast

    Dude you are delusional your computer is infected you are not going to get adhoc results because of this.

    Malwarebytes is one of the best AV solutions to date, it was at one point in time the best even over Kaspersky because it was the only Soultion that could detect Malware that other offerings could not detect. Like this was for a good portion of time we are talking years.

    its still very robuust today and is still one of the best its just that everyone else caught up to Malwarebytes.

    Like when we are saying that Malwarebytes used to be the best that is because it was, it used to blow everything else out of the water but over time all the other suites caught up to its lead.

    its still a solid product.

    If I could ask. I'm on 4.6.9.314, purchased. ( I have over 200 days left in subscription.)

    Am I eligible for V5? If so how do I initiate update? ( Checking for updates does not initiate upgrade.)

    It could be this is a phased rollout and I just have to wait. That would be worth knowing.

    Think I told you what I did yesterday Ken ... I didn't want to wait for it to update automatically, so I downloaded the 5.0 file from Malwarebytes yesterday and installed it that way ....worked fine for me. File name is : MBSetup File size: 2,525

    Lets be fair, on that topic I was able to rid my computer of the "problem" I was talking about. Yes I have to reinstall programs.
    That at some point I made back ups of my original 1903 and 2004(20H1) which amazingly had no viral problems asides problems I disconnected ago via the Registry.

    In fact with Avast outside of nailing actual ROOTKITS where MBs never reported to me. Doing a scan "Pre-load" option, I was
    able to finally have a clean primary install back to the state I had before.

    My only problem now is that I have a backup of Installation files that needs to be cleaned out ( I have the remove the infection
    or magically redownload Terrabytes worth of .exe and .dll files. But even so the viral defense I have running will

    "Snap" "pop" the infection out of existence. Just like picking up Druggies ( mostly Hipsters/uppity people ) at _________
    attempting to buy the ______ from the obvious NARC.

    Point I am making is that trying different versions of MBs have shown me that many of these "False Reports" was just MBs
    making me feel insecure. Where Avast actually is honest and sticks with what is actually a virus.

    The viral problem I had is an was actually a lot older because even 1903 I booted via the Windows-Defender was able to spot it.
    It has just been sitting on my Windows 7 machine waiting for me to move it to a Windows 10 install where it had purpose.

    I will post a picture of my wonderful desktop sometime, to show you why I would rather not reinstall Windows or start from scratch

    You have to enable rootkit scanning for Malwarebytes, its disabled by default because it takes a long time to conduct scans with it enabled. This is because you only need that functionality if you actually have a rootkit.

    Second Malwarebytes is superior to Avast.

    You don't have to prove anything, i told you it sounds like you have a rootkit all you did was install another AV and wipe the rootkit. But like most rootkits don't be surprised if you are right back in the fire.

    There was never a pissing contest between us so back off. This is not even the place to talk about these thing you derailed the thread here. I have been responding accordingly.
