Issue fixed, back to Free Version properly now, didn't know it would automatically remove 2xx version, and resolve to free version once 3.0 installed, Now fully on free version with 3.0, and several more PC's to update in a moment here
Great news!! Glad everything is fixed.

After your 30 days is expired MalwareBytes should revert back to a Free version.
Unless they have changed something for MB3 (which is possible), the TRIAL is for 14-days.

"30 days" refers to the money-back guarantee on license purchase.

    Cheers,

P.S. For additional feedback, check the corresponding thread over at sevenforums. And do keep an eye out at the MB3 forum -- upgrades are not going smoothly for everyone. There are some other issues, as well, as one might expect with such a new product.

Yeah I was not sure if it was a 30 day thing ....or even 14 days. Seems neither one, as the user got it changed to the Free version quickly. :)

As far as bugs on MB3 I've already seen 3 within 1 hour of upgrading to it this morning. Already sent them an email with notes and pics.

Beside grouping Anti Exploit, Anti Ransomware, and Anti Malware into one package, it would be nice if they can come up with zero day protection module. The signature is so bad that people don't feel confidence when they run this thing as a standalone product. Also, a funny thing that I just remember now is back in the old day lots of people asked Malwarebytes why they don't make antivirus, and Malwarebytes staffs stated that their product focused on assist antivirus not an antivirus product.

    ^^ Interesting. ^^

They sure do seem to be in a RUSH with MB3.
They shipped beta 3 of the MB3 combo-wombo as a release build without a "release candidate build" or even a proper removal tool.

(Only) 6 months of support for their stable, highly-rated, high-performing flagship product seems unnecessarily hurried and ill-advised.

Heck, they supported MBAM v1 for nearly 2 years after MBAM v2 was released (which was crazy).
I know no other security software vendor that shoves a stable version out to EOL/EOS in only 6 months.
This seems unprecedented for ANY software vendor, especially since there's not even been a single round of objective tests/reviews/comparatives for the "release" version of the new product.

    What's the rush, I wonder?

I wish them well, but this "haste makes waste" approach is troubling for a company with such a favorable reputation for quality products.

Only Problem I had on my Windows 10 Pro 64 bit 1607 14393.447 PC, was during the first custom scan, memory use shot up to 95 percent, PC became sluggish, and I cancelled the scan and returned to normal.

    Antivirus in use Avast 12.3.2280

Glad you got updated. It's encouraging to know that some users are having no issues.

I respectfully remind folks that MB3 does NOT appear to be an "antivirus".
It is being marketed as an "AV Replacement" -- see here and here and here.

The words seem to have been chosen to skirt the issue of whether it *is* or is *not* a fully-flagged AV.
If it were an AV or something similar, then one might have presumed they would have called it "Malwarebytes ___ ": Antivirus? Security Suite? Internet Security? Internet Security Suite? Extended Security Suite?
Instead, it's just "3.0". They even dropped the "Anti-Malware".

It's more than a semantic issue.
AFAIK It has not yet been subjected to any head-to-head AV comparatives.
Like its predecessor, AFAIK it also does not target certain types of malware covered by the AVs (no news there).
And, AFAIK, like its predecessor, it lacks certain basic AV capabilities that -- historically -- the publisher delegated to the user's installed MS or 3rd-party AV, as part of a complementary security strategy.

I hope this is not an attempt to perpetuate the longstanding confusion that everything is a "virus", luring customers to ditch their full AVs in favor of a product that really is not quite an AV.

I suppose the AV comparatives, other testing, the reaction of the 3rd-party AV vendors, and real-world use will tell.

I have no dog in the fight. I have been a longstanding customer since the days when the company insisted that they would never release a "full", do-it-all product, and when they vigorously supported the longstanding "best practice" of complementary, layered security products. Times change, threat landscapes change, and company priorities change.

It's up to each user to decide how to interpret the new marketing taglines and how much faith to put in such a new, relatively untested product, even from such a terrific company.

I applaud them for their effort and I hope it works out well for all of us.

So, by all means, have at it.
I just suggest holding off on calling MB3 an "antivirus", since even the publisher does not stretch to call it that.

    Cheers,

    MM
