That's prudent and helpful. MBAM has working solutions for other issues it wants to get out. To hold them up due to the performance issue in 2004 would be a detriment to us and them. They are being professionally polite by including the caveat about the 2004 issue. It precludes users from asking "Does this fix the 2004 issue?".
Agreed. In addition, they have direct channels to M$ devs to ascertain what is being done to fix the non-MB-related issues with 2004 anyway, so if something is coming down the pipeline from M$ that may either nullify or negate the advantages of any fixes that the MB devs put out *now*, it's a wasted effort on the MB dev team's part, all while other MB issues are relegated to the backburner.

I think MB is doing the correct thing here.

And, let's face it - there will still be users asking that very question in the forums, in support channels, etc. - at least this way *some* may get the message, so it should help lessen the number of questions about it.

Strange! 4 days later I was still not updated automatically! I manually checked for updates today and got it!

Auto updates are usually metered out over a few days. Manual updates is the way to go,

I had previously switched MWB off by 'Quitting' it from the Task Bar. It was successful in stopping my processing issues and appeared to stick through daily restarts. However, this morning it mysteriously 'unstuck' and switched itself back on! I guess there is a sneaky time limit on the quitting function.
Anyway, given the latest position (and especially after reading the company rep's humble post on their Commuity Forum), I decided to let it stay (after the latest update) - with Ransomware switched off - and so far so good. I hope they can live up to their new attitude and fix the issue ASAP.

    Hello John.
Please know that "Quit Malwarebytes" is simply just having the program EXIT. That is all. If your program is Premium & it is set to default to auto-start with each Windows startup, that is what happened. There is not a time limit or such.
Do check to see that your pc does have the latest update.
Start Malwarebytes. >> click Settings >> Look on the ABOUT tab & click on the "Check for Updates".
Look to see that yours shows COMPONENT 1.0.979
    .
If you are encountering other issues, what are they ? and have you posted on the Malwarebytes forum site ?

This update does not address yet:

    • MB4 causes severe system performance issues with Windows 10 v2004 We are working around the clock to provide a hot fix to our Users affected by this problem
COMPONENT 1.0.979 still does NOT fix the problems when using Malwarebytes on v2004
I'm not gonna use Malwarebytes on the 2004 release yet until both MS & Malwarebytes issue fixes on both ends

MB works great on 1909, so I won't be updating to 2004 until this is fixed.
I rather have MB then 2004.
