    If you like, you could try doing a system restore using a restore point dated before you had the virus and this issue to hopefully sort it for you quickly.

    That would have been my first port of call but I only received this computer on Wednesday this week and have no restore points.

    I removed McAfee security by going to Programs and Features and removing it from there before seeing that message.Could that be the root cause?.

    Not necessarily, but it wouldn't hurt to use the removal tool to make sure it's not a cause.

    Used the tool to remove leftovers from McAvee but still no sign of that cursed Recycle Bin.
