Well I was leaning towards LastPass, I like the look of DashLane but LastPass stores on cloud for free.
Since my last post a few more suggestions have come up so I'll go look at them and I'd like to find out more about the W10 inbuilt Password saver.
LastPass is not browser or OS specific. It supports all of the major browsers and Windows from XP to 10. There is a version for iOS and Android and LP Free also supports two factor authentication using the Google Authenticator app. The additional features of the Premium version only cost $12/year. Regarding LastPass being hacked it would be more accurate to say there have been hacking attempts, because to my knowledge it has never been demonstrated that any of these incidents have resulted in the loss and compromise of personal user data.

Whichever system you choose make sure it supports two factor authentication...

Yes, and you can easily pay for that if you participate in Google Opinion Rewards.

If it's good enough for Steve Gibson, it's good enough for me.
I've been a satisfied LastPass user for many years, and a premium user for the past year to get the 2FA.

Even very recently (after the LogMeIn buyout) I tried other managers, both online services, and offline only. The browser integration with LastPass far superior to any of the others, if the others even offer it. Make it too difficult or cumbersome to use, and users will choose weak passwords, or use a password multiple times. This is where LastPass excels: it is extremely easy to use.

I don't know about anybody else, but I can only really store one GOOD password in my brain. Since I started using LastPass, I've only had to remember one password at a time.
