    Windows Defender in System Tray

After the update on 9/30, I noticed that the Windows Defender icon now appears in the system tray.

Has this happened to everyone? What's the point of it?

It shows up if you've done a manual scan.

Mine won't auto display. I have to start Defender, and then I can get it to stay. I like to have it there. Easy eye indicator to know it's running, and some program or error didn't force close it.

That's strange, because I have not done a manual scan recently.

That is odd then Like Bobby said, I always liked it there, even though if there is anything, I'm sure I'll get a toast and the action center icon will turn white.

If you like, you can have the Windows Defender notification icon hide or show at will. :)
