    One important thing:

I downloaded the Microsoft development virtual machine with Windows 11. https://developer.microsoft.com/it-i...tual-machines/

If I start the virtual machine inside the PC that freeze, it works and doesn't freeze!!!

Could this test mean there are no hardware problems?

You can also perform in-place upgrade of Windows 10. In-place upgrade is to use to replace the current operating system files on your computer. Unlike a clean installation of Windows, you can start a Windows in-place upgrade when your OS is still running. And an in-place upgrade can keep your files, settings, & apps during the upgrade process. You can perform a Windows 10 in-place upgrade is to use the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool. Make sure to select Upgrade this PC now and click Next. Follow the on-screen guide to perform a Windows 10 in-place upgrade.

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

You can use the attached batch script to restore Hosts file to default state.

    Thank you ,

I'm doing an "on place" reinstallation. So I eliminate a good part.

The tmp file I discovered is from Nvidia, so the problem is still hidden.

If you have links or threads I can read them.
I already did a reinstallation on site (on-place, in-place ...) but it didn't solve the problem. I would like to continue to see if there is a rootkit. I'm also having problems backing up the edge and until I solve the "edge" problem I can't reformat for a clean install which would be the fastest solution.

@einstein1969 maybe backing up your user profile will help.

You will learn how to backup and restore user profile in Windows, without spending hours customizing the new computer.

I'm trying to do some tests on a VM. But it will take me some time. In the meantime I'll update that for a while the PC worked but today it froze again.

    Hi,

Follow and use Sophos Hitman Pro (free trial allows you to remove Virus)
    HitmanPro Advanced Malware Removal Tools

Consider also using MalwareBytes and AdwCleaner in the end to make sure that is clean.
    https://malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/
    https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/

Also you can to be sure that you don't have anything running, you can try RogueKiller
Free Virus Cleaner | RogueKiller AntiMalware • Adlice Software

    Where did you catch that?
atching malware or viruses through website downloads occurs because malicious software can be embedded in or disguised as legitimate files and programs. Here’s a detailed explanation of how this happens:

    1. Malicious Code Injection

Hackers can insert malicious code into websites or files that users download. When the file is executed or opened, the malicious code runs and can perform various harmful actions, such as stealing data, encrypting files for ransom, or compromising the system.
    2. Exploits and Vulnerabilities

Websites can exploit vulnerabilities in browsers or plugins (like Flash, Java, or PDF readers) to download and execute malware without the user's consent. This is known as a "drive-by download." Simply visiting an infected website can trigger these exploits.
    3. Social Engineering

Malicious actors often use social engineering techniques to trick users into downloading malware. This might include fake alerts about system infections, enticing free software offers, or phishing emails with malicious attachments or links.
    4. Compromised Legitimate Sites

Even reputable websites can be compromised by attackers who then use them to distribute malware. Users trust these sites and are more likely to download files without suspecting anything malicious.

    5. Bundled Software

    6. Compromised Websites
Comprimised websites or blogs hosted by Hosting Provider might be other issue! Make sure your website you visit have https and other secure ways to download it and make sure that MD5 is equal.

Malware can be bundled with legitimate software. Users downloading free software may inadvertently install additional programs that contain malware if they don't pay close attention to the installation process.
    6. Obfuscated Malware

Cybercriminals often obfuscate (hide) malware within files to avoid detection by antivirus programs. This can involve embedding malware in seemingly benign files like documents, images, or videos.

Let me know if everything is done, it should be clean. Unless it is new and undetectable in such case the best way is to format your computer and doing fresh OS installation.
