Anyone have good/bad experienc with Cyberlock

    CyberLock™ - The User-Friendly Toggling Computer Lock.

There is nothing on the website to indicate compatibility or conflict with Defender. Malwarebytes or any other security suite. Does this product an additional layer of security? Is the approach effective?

    See link below:

Does CyberLock work with traditional and next-gen antivirus software?

Yes, CyberLock works great with all common traditional and next-gen antivirus software, including Microsoft Defender. CyberLock was specifically designed to complement your traditional or next-gen antivirus.

The only experience I've had was using it some years ago when it was known as VoodooShield.

VoodooShield free blocks exploits and more - Windows 7 Forums

    Read the user guide:

Note: I remember having issues with posting replies in this forum and the solution was to temporarily enable training mode when visiting this site to whitelist it.

The thing to remember is not to leave it in training mode after allowing something that you want to whitelist.

I remember downloading some live ransomware samples and it did block everything.

Note: It does not scan for and remove viruses that already exist on your machine. If used correctly it blocks any threats but it doesn't clean infections so you'd still use Defender or something else alongside it.

I've found that Defender along with browser security addons and some other third party on demand scanners is good enough but if you are regularly getting infected or indulge in risky browsing behaviour or install untrusted software then it's an almost bulletproof solution. I say almost because it depends upon correct usage and correct user response to prompts.

I tried it also when it was called Voodoo shield, its basically just an advanced take on something like windows smart screen but it has rule definitions. It fell out of rotation for me because at that time it was to intrusive as in it kept going off on false detection. This was years ago so it may of improved.

I think it would actually by close in comparison to smart screen and group policy sort of features that are in windows.

I've used it on and off since it first came out with zero issues. It should work with any AV and provides superior protection.

I didn't mind the program at the time i thought it was pretty decent but when it starts going of regularly on only text files then i think yeah nah i don't need this in the way. Back then it made sense because malware detection was not as robust as it is now.

I think now it would be something worth using for select reasons but Malware protection has kind of scaled past that. We are moving into an era where memory integrity and singed code are basically enforced. When this is the case then Malware is becoming less of an issue. Well the sort of on demand payload we are use to because it means that the malware has to get more advanced.
