The privacy policy from them is not generic. this is what a generic policy looks like.

Its thorough but its very formal using very formal structure and word play but that is an example of what generic looks like as in run of the mill generic, there is a lot of jargon inside that which is legal but also overall means you need to read attentively and its very drawn out and long winded.
Compare that with their one its clear concise and to the point so much so you can make an informed decision in like 2 minutes, they don't want any confusion to the customer because its easier for some customers to get lost in legal jargon and that could mean less sales. They want people to understand. I would say this is part of the approach but it is also more grassroots of an approach. They are talking to their customers like humans not robots.

They do have a good history and are for the people. Just read some of their self help articles to know that. They also no longer offer lifetime license as those got stopped a number of years back i want to say around 2014 roughly but i am not sure. you will be hard to find that today its not a thing with AV software, i think overall MB was one of if not the only one to do that in the AV market.
