Error when I try to turn off Bitlocker
Having struggled with a slow OS for some time, I've used the "Refresh this PC" option.
It is not much better, so I've decided to bite the dust and do a gold standard reinstall.
In order to do so I need to disable Bitlocker and decrypt the drives.
However, when I click Turn Off Bitlocker an error appears saying "The drive cannot be encrypted because it contains system boot information. Create a separate partition for use as the system drive that contains the boot information and a second partition for use as the operating system drive and then encrypt the operating system drive"
I've done some searching and it sounds like I might need to rebuild the BCD. (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...2-0eab33f708ba)
Pressing F8 on bootup doesn't get me into the repair computer page that the above article mentions.
Does anyone know of this issue and the best way to resolve it?
(FYI I have a spare HDD with a full clean install of this laptop on it. Whether that gives me any options for disabling BitLocker on my SSD though I am doubtful)
