The Windows Defender Firewall rule dpvolvw blocked outgoing connection
This thing cropped up some time ago every time I clicked a link on Slickdeals.net. I worked around it until now. I am sick of it. I looked out outbound rules in Windows Defender and saw no such rule present. Admittedly, I am not knowledgeable with firewall rules. Can someone give me a pointer?
Definitely check out the hosts file that is mentioned in one of the replies there.
That link was to the point, but did not solve my problem. I had another look at firewall outgoing rules and actually found a rule blocking"dpvolvw". I disabled that rule and everything works now.
It does worry me how that rule got there and what enabling it exposes me to.
