Trojan Allowing 32 computers to connect?

I have 2 computers on the same home Xfinity network. My 1 computer said my Norton has expired, tho it wasn't.

A Norton tech was able to get my Norton to work. I had a trojan on that computer.

But, he also did some sort of scan and showed there were 32 computers using my network. I should have written down what he did, as he erased it when I asked him how he did it. He would only say if I spend $70, that will take care of it. He refused to tell me how he saw those 32.

Should I be concerned about the computer that is working fine?

Anyone know how to check what is connected to my network? Under devices it just shows my computers and bluetooth. Nothi9ng suspicious, so I'm wondering if I did the wrong thing checking it that way.

    Thanks.

if he can't tell you why then i would not trust that advice sounds like fear mongering. He probably trying to scam you for some side cash.

I would report that customer service person but do it in a inquiry instead of an accusation so that it bring attention to support that way they can try to see if he is lying. Don't do it on live chat do it through a support email.

I agree with Malneb. However, it is possible to see many more networks than you might think. Although, they are not necessarily using your router. Over a year ago, I installed an application that could sniff out as many WiFi networks as possible. I don't remember the name any more. The longer you ran it, the more networks it found. I ran it for a couple of hours and it found about 150 WiFi networks. Of course, most were so weak they would never be useful. However, there were a few that were unprotected and strong enough to use.

It's not unusual to have several other devices all sharing an Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection on the same Xfinity network in your area. If you're using Wi-Fi and disconnect from the network, you'll be able to see other devices in your Immedient area which also use the same Xfinity connection. If you lived in a large apartment complex, you'd see 20-40, or even more other devices all connected to the same network. That's why the modem/ router have passwords and other protections.

As for the Trojan you had, you could have picked it up by something you downloaded or an email you opened.

That was not a Norton tech. Doubtful that there are 32 computers on your network. As for any viri, there are plenty of free tools avail to start. Bleepingcomputer .com has a great malware forum that will get you started.
