    Comodo Frewall

I've noticed some positive comments regarding Comodo free firewall on the Web, and wonder if it can be installed on my device ( Gateway notebook, W11), which already has Windows Defender installed. Would there be any extra protection benefit by doing so? And, would the 2 firewalls clash with each other?

    Thanks for your advice, Ed

I don't use Comodo Firewall, so I cannot say. Imo, Windows literally comes with the only firewall you will ever need automatically installed. That is ALL you need. Anything more is a waste of system resources.

You do get some benefit to it as anytime an app tries to send stuff over the network it will prompt you. Its intrusive though i don't recommended it.

Basically windows firewall the way it works by default programs can set firewall rules so they can talk outside the network and generally outbound connections are usually pretty open by default so this can mean that it is vulnerable in sense unless you set it correctly.
Commodo and other firewalls go over that and will block everything by default while warning you and nagging you all the time that something is happening.

Basically you get some extra features with more overhead added. Windows firewall can be configured just as well as these 3rd party offerings making them redundant.
