Can I take control of Defender Scheduled Scans?

Windows defender scans way too much, often causing problems when I need the resources for games.

I don't want to disable automatic scans entirely, I just want to take control of when they happen.

I've tried setting a once a day schedule in the task scheduler but the trigger is blank next time I think to go look.

Why not just disable Windows Defender Scheduled Scan in Task Scheduler and create a shortcut to a script that runs a scan whenever you want?

For example, I use two one-line PowerShell scripts to kick-off immediate scans, one Quick and the other Full:
    Code:
    Start-MpScan -ScanType QuickScan
    Code:
    Start-MpScan -ScanType FullScan
You can read more in this article.

    Hope this helps...
