Is Windows Security Doing This?
This sort of ties into my previous topic in Drivers & Hardware
Basically, I usually run multiple Macrium Reflect backups (redundancy reasons) if my current backups are either one month or more old, or if i'm about to do something potentially dangerous and i don't want to lose my data. I back it all up onto three Hard Drives using a powered hotswap dock, and when the Hard Drive(s) in question usually power on, after they've fully spun up/powered up, it usually takes about two or three seconds for the hard drive in question to show up in my devices and drives list alongside my C: and D: drives (and the one optical disk drive). Recently though, its taken longer for the Backup Drive(s) to show up in the Devices & Drives list alongside my System Drives and the optical disk drive. I tested this out on my father's desktop and it works just fine, no abnormal slow down whatsoever. So i had a thought and put my computer in SafeBoot (Minimal) mode and tried again. I had no abnormal problems then. I ran a repair install of my OS, did the DISM & SFC scan, no problems found. Ran a chkdsk /r /f, thinking that'd do it, but it didn't, so im left with only one possibility: Windows Security is the culprit (somehow)
I got no more ideas beyond whatever Window Security is doing to slow my backup stuff down somehow, but is there a way to get it to stop being like this, because it didn't do this before, but now it is. Also, for the record, i did run a full windows Security scan, and a full super antispyware scan, did not find anything at all.
