    haksaigho.com is killing my pc

    Hello, a couple weeks ago I started getting messages from haksaigho.com stating the site I was trying to go to did not have a secure connection. Now, I have problems going to just about any site. In fact, on this forum, I kept getting a blank page when I clicked on post a new thread until I opened Norton browser. I have attached some screen shots of what I am getting. No one can tell me how to fix this problem. It does not happen when I use my cell phone or tablet, so there is some kind of infection on this pc. I have run norton 360 scan and still no fix.haksaigho.com is killing my pc-screenshot-4-.pnghaksaigho.com is killing my pc-screenshot-5-.pnghaksaigho.com is killing my pc-screenshot-6-.png

    Hello @Olderthandirt,

    Welcome to TenForums.

    To start with, I would:

    > Run MalwareBytes.
    > Clear the Browser Cache.
    > Flush the DNS.

    I hope this helps.

    The Norton antivirus could be causing the connection problem, uninstall it to see problem resolves.

    Completely Uninstall Norton software using:

    Instructions
    1. Please download and save NRnR.exeto your desktop.
    2. Close all programs and double click on the tool.
    3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
    4. Restart the computer if asked.
    5. Then delete the NRnR.exe tool from your desktop.
    6. Open the Program Files folder on your local disk ( normally C: )
    7. Find and delete the following folders (if present):
      • Norton AntiVirus
      • Norton Internet Security
      • Norton SystemWorks
      • Norton Personal Firewall

    @Olderthandirt, .... Howdy & welcome to the forum !

    Download these 2 programs & run them, when done post the logs so we can see if that problem goes away or do i need to have you run a more stronger program ??
    Malwarebytes AdwCleaner >>> Download AdwCleaner
    Please download AdwCleaner and save it to your Desktop
    * Close all open programs and browsers
    * Right click on the icon and select Run as administrator
    * Click Scan now
    * Allow the program to Quarantine what it finds except for Pre-installed applications if you would like to keep those or other entries you would like to keep
    * When completed click View Scan Log File
    * Copy and paste the contents in your reply
    * Click Skip Basic Repair if it appears then close the program

    ===========

    Full System Scan with Malwarebytes Antimalware >>> https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download
    * If not existing, please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.
    * Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
    * At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.

    * If the program is already installed:
    * Run Malwarebytes Antimalware
    * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    * Once the program has loaded, select Perform fullscan, place a checkmark on all hard drives, then click Scan.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    * When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location.
    * The log can also be found here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
    * Or at C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
    *** Post that log back here or just tell me what it found ?
    If it is to long then you will have to zip it or find a site to download it to & let me know where !

    Post the logs so i can read them unless nothing is found ! If they are to big then zip them up & give me a link !!

    Thanks !
    Chuck

    Hello @Olderthandirt

    Although it appears as if the offending URL to IP translations/routings have been removed from some of the global DNS nameservers, if top-tier malware removal installed scanners have not found/removed the root cause, follow-up scans with other competent/respected scanners need to be run next. This will assume you have successfully run the MBAM Threat scan and AdwCleaner in default modes.

    e.g., not limited to: Microsoft Safety Scanner, ESET Online Scanner, Trend Micro HouseCall, Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool 2020, etc.

    Please save the scan results and let this subforum know the status of that computer after running the supplementary scanners.

    Thank you.

    I have problems going to just about any site.
    Although Norton antivirus is cheaper than other plans, it's not the best option if you're looking for something to keep all your devices safe. It doesn't accurately detect wide range of Viruses.

    The Microsoft Windows Defender is a next-generation protection solution that comes with Windows 10 and Windows 11.

    Microsoft Defender antivirus is pretty safe. It has almost 100% real-time protection rates, according to independent tests. It also has additional features for device protection against malware, such as scanning, app and browser control, and account protection options.

    Guys it appears that I have fixed the problem. I remembered that a while back I had purchased PC Tuneup Pro. I thought, "what the hell" I have tried everything else, I might as well give this a try! I ran each section, scanning various segments of my PC. It found some issues and fixed them or quarentined them. After going through the entire program I restarted my PC. So far, everything looks and acts like it did before the issue arose. I went to several sites the issue would not allow me to go to and now I can go there with no problems. I can also check shipping status on ebay, which I could not do before.
    Thanks for all your inputs and advice.
