    windows defender odd notices on windows 10


    this is a 2 year old dell desktop.
    normally i do not connect to the internet- i use a chromebook for that.
    but pinnacle studio needed reinstalling so...(it failed anyway!)
    but first i updated windows defender.
    i dont have any odd software on the computer- all legit
    What should i do about these finds?

    @anon125, that is a PUP you have picked up ! If you would like i can give you a program that we can remove it ?

    a computer not connected to the internet is not likely to pick up a virus
    what is the virus and what is your sofware also going to do?

    Let me refrain that it is a PUP that can turn into a virus if not removed ! A PUP is a potential unwanted software ! But it is easy removed with this program !
    Malwarebytes AdwCleaner >>> Download AdwCleaner

    Please download AdwCleaner and save it to your Desktop
    * Close all open programs and browsers
    * Right click on the icon and select Run as administrator
    * Click Scan now
    * Allow the program to Quarantine what it finds except for Pre-installed applications if you would like to keep those or other entries you would like to keep
    * When completed click View Scan Log File
    * Copy and paste the contents in your reply
    * Click Skip Basic Repair if it appears then close the program

    NO ........... The program has to be installed on the Windows machine to be scanned. The program does not run off the USB nor any other removable device.
