When you launch CCleaner, there will be 2 tabs. Click the applications tab, scroll to the bottom & you will see the choices under Windows.

Thanks, Borg 386, but I'm using the latest version of CCleaner free and I do not have those options. Are you using the paid version?

I'm using the free version as well, a bit older but it still does it's job. Perhaps they haven't upgraded it yet for 10? Or perhaps that function is moved to somewhere else or just not available on 10?

The only suggestion I would have is to not run it for 5 days & see if you still get the nag screen. I know the newer version installs itself so it runs in the background & monitors your system & deletes files when they reach a certain capacity, so perhaps the settings are there somewhere.. Another test would be to disable background scanning & then wait for 5 days to see if it re-appears.

Strange they would get rid of that option from the list, if they did indeed do that.

Scratch that 10 comment, just visited the site & I see it's been updated for 10.

I'm running version 5.08.5308 (last months version) and do not have MS Antimalware either. I checked the changelog - the only mention is adding it in June 2011 - nothing about removing it.

Try running it as admin. I see on a couple pages that some functions need to be run as administrator. R Click on the program & click "Run as administrator" & see if this opens up any options that were hidden.

I've got mine set to always run as admin & I'm seeing the options for MS Security client.

I'm running version 5.09.5343. No change with "run as administrator." I might try uninstalling and reinstalling, and then creating an elevated shortcut prompt without the UAC, per Brink's tutorial.

I see on yours you have Defender checked under utilities. Try unchecking that, It looks like that's where they moved it to, utilities.

Uncheck that & then see if the problem reappears.

Yeah, I just noticed that, too, and I unchecked it. I'll see how it goes. Thanks.

This is why I hate when some apps/tools get "updated." LOL. You get used to something being in one place for years & then suddenly they change it all around.
