    Can keyloggers capture/steal copy-paste'd information?

Or do they only capture info if I manually put it in via keystrokes?

A true keylogger, just captures keystrokes.
However... a keylogger may also be packaged with a screen recorder, or other nefarious items.

A hacker's best option is to include a backdoor of sorts with any malware he can get installed on your computer.
That way, he can re-access your computer, to add more malware, whenever he wants to.

    I agree with Ghot.

Malware that captures the contents of the clipboard can be planted on your computer.
So trying to avoid one type of malware could be playing into the hands of another type.

But keeping WD up-to-date can reduce the chances of being afflicted by any malware at all.

    I don't use WD. I use Kaspersky.

Of course, every webpage can, it is but a simple script. It is is enabled by default, I block it in windows/browser.
I also clean clipboard as soon as I copy something important, some apps/extensions can do it too, like bitwarden.

Reminds me of an old Firefox extension I ran back in the before time that scrambled keystrokes and clipboard events at the supposed kernel level.

Having said that, I'm sure there's software out there paid or free that does just that...
