Kaspersky Total Renewal Questions?

So how would I know if the total kaspersky code on amazon us site would work or not? My kaspersky total is now expired.



​Also my plan was the 5 device plan.



So if i buy kaspersky total from amazon us site and then receive the code, then activate it, it might not work? So it would only work when I am located in the US? Any issue if I buy the kaspersky total but buy the 3 device plan instead?



Thing is I am thinking it has more to do with which kaspersky total region you have downloaded on your laptop and less so your location?



Thus imagine you being in another country and download kaspersky total. Then if you order it from amazon us... that wouldn't work since the kaspersky total you have installed in your computer is another country? But if it is kaspersky total already installed on your laptop when you was in the us but now you are outside the us, that would work?

Do most agree kaspersky total is better then the free windows defender though?


The thing is i know it depends on what sites you go to etc and that is more important. But what if you accidentally click on a link or open a file? Surely kaspersky total would protect you more than windows defender right?


Again I am not talking about how you go online and just randomly click on things or download files you have no clue about. I mean like if you might have opened a file or email or pdf file but then it might have malware. Would kaspersky total protect you more then windows defender? Now obviously if you are very careful about any file you download or click or open, then windows defender would be more than enough. But what if you sometimes click on something or open a file and something like that. Such that you are not careful. Is kaspersky total or any other av better than windows defender?

I have been using Kaspersky TS for 2 years and I always torrent questionable stuff. I can say that the HIPS functionality of Kaspersky is amazing. I haven't had a single infection in years.

Can you explain you torrent questionable stuff? That is downloading torrented files whether it is programs or movies or games? I would never do that on my main laptop even with kaspersky total on it.



But you are saying any torrent or file you download, kaspersky total will pick it up when you open the file? Does kaspersky total protect you if you accidentally click on a link whether online or youtube or anything like that? What if it is an exe file and you open it? It would tell you there is malware and tell you not to open it? But if you open it even after kaspersky total tells you, then obviously that won't work right?

Okay so both kaspersky total and defender if you open some file you downloaded and it thinks it might have malware, it will both let you know before opening the file right? Like if it is an exe file or something like that? But once you open the file anyway, does kaspersky total protect you if it does have malware? I got to assume it would protect it more then defender?


But if you visit shady sites or click on things, kaspersky total will protect you or not? I also use that ad blocker ublockorgin as well. So if you visit shady sites and download files that are shady, how is defender compared to kaspersky total then? Like imagine someone sends you an email and a pdf file but say that pdf file contains malware. How would kaspersky total compare to defender here?

If your visiting shady sites, downloading files you don't know are safe and opening random emails and exe's then the best AV in the world will not be enough to save you.

You have a point. However, Kaspersky TS is equipped with HIPS, part of which is application control. According to what the file attempts to accomplish and according to its own DataBase (Kaspersky Security Network), it constantly monitors applications and - in theory - if an app tries something shady, it will be blocked.

Do correct my understanding if it's false tho.
