"Security at a glance" error message

Win 10 22H2 19045.2130. Got a notification which said basically my antivirus is turned off. [Shows ON]
Clicked on message and it brought up this error. Clicked on OK and it went away???
First time seeing this, make no sense to me.??

Are you using any 3rd party "Windows enhancement" packages?
Have you modified any registry entries by hand?

My experience is that that message will appear if any of a variety of registry entries are modified for which Windows does not provide a GUI interface and which normally are not changed on a single-user computer.

Winaero Tweaker is an example of an enhancement product which can modify registry entries which trigger that message.

Tx for reply. This happened shortly after upgrading to 22H2. I have not added/changed any register settings myself.

Try running these commands as Administrator:
    Code:
    REG ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender Security Center\Virus and threat protection" /v UILockdown /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
    REG ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender Security Center\Account protection" /v UILockdown /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
    REG ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender Security Center\Firewall and network protection" /v UILockdown /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
    REG ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender Security Center\App and Browser protection" /v UILockdown /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
    REG ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender Security Center\Device security" /v UILockdown /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
    REG ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender Security Center\Device performance and health" /v UILockdown /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
    REG ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender Security Center\Family options" /v UILockdown /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

This removes the block on the Security dashboard, unless you have a Group Policy overriding it.

Copied all these REG ADD's and will do them if the problem persists. No occurrences today. [Fingers crossed] Tx
